Ann Kirrane
ANN KIRRANE comes from Bellharbour in north Co. Clare and a long musical tradition. Her late father, Chris Droney was one of the most respected concertina players in Ireland, winning numerous All-Ireland titles and was a recipient of several prestigious awards down through the years, including TG4 Gradam Saoil. Ann learned to play concertina at the age of seven and was taught by her father and grandfather Jim, and she herself won three All-Ireland titles.
Her teenage summers were spent in Lisdoonvarna playing music with her father, Chris, Tommy Peoples, Kitty Linnane and Paddy Mullins of the Kilfenora Céili Band.
In 2012, Ann recorded and launched her first cd of songs, “One Small Star”, to critical acclaim and in 2016, she was thrilled to launch her second cd, “Behind yon Mountain”, at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Ennis. Since 2012, she has performed all over Ireland and has toured and performed extensively, the east and west coast of the United States of America and was guest performer on a Caribbean cruise with Joanie Madden’s Folk ‘n Irish cruise.
